Jimmy Bartel is still mystified why the AFL were so slow to postpone two Opening Round matches scheduled in Queensland this week.

As Tropical Cyclone Alfred bears down on south-east Queensland, the AFL only opted to postpone matches scheduled for Thursday night and Saturday twilight on Tuesday afternoon.

“They finally come up with the right solution,” Bartel said on Wide World of Sports.

“It could have been ticked off last night instead of waiting. What are we doing?”
