What is fueling Melbourne’s fire in season 2023

Footy clubs frequently say they’re only worried about what’s ahead, but Melbourne’s general manager of performance openly admits the Demons have spent “a lot of time” looking back at last season’s finals capitulation.

Alan Richardson told 3AW’s Wide World Of Sports the straight sets finals exit would provide plenty of fuel for the Demons in 2023.

“We spent a lot of time looking back,” he said.

“We finished second on the ladder and fell out in straight sets.

“There is no doubt that’s disappointing and has really motivated the coaches and the players to get back into the club and get themselves into shape.”
