The Allan Government has announced today that children as young as 14 will soon be tried as adults under a new initiative to tackle youth crime in the state.

“These violent, life-changing crimes are not new,” the 3AW Drive host said.

“Ask any victim, and Premier, if you say you have been speaking to these victims, well, we have for two years, and they will tell you it is not new.”

Youth crime victim Adele returned to 3AW Drive to comment on the announcement.

Speaking on 3AW Drive, Adele questioned the logistics of the new initiative.

“We keep hearing the fact that the system can’t cope as it is,” Adele said.

“How is this system going to cope with these hundreds, possibly thousands of new kids that need to face consequences for their actions?”
