What Matthew Lloyd expects Ben Ainsworth to add to Carlton

Carlton has had a busy afternoon in the trade period, adding two fresh names as it looks to bounce back next season.

Campbell Chesser moves to the club from West Coast, while Ben Ainsworth heads south to also link up with the Blues.

Matthew Lloyd believes Carlton’s lack of small forward options makes Ainsworth a good acquisition.

“Carlton has a real issue with small forward – the best clubs in the competition have three,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.

“Ben Ainsworth has been around a long time, so hopefully he can be an improvement in that area.”
