What Matthew Lloyd had to say about Zach Merrett after Bombers horror show

An upset caller on the 3AW talkback line has prompted Essendon great Matthew Lloyd to come to the defence of Bombers skipper Zach Merrett after the thrashing on Saturday night.

Caller Jonathan questioned what happened to Merrett, with Lloyd responding “he’s the least of their problems”.

“I long for the day that he isn’t their best player and daylight is second,” Lloyd said on 3AW Drive.
