What surprised Sam Docherty about Michael Voss’ explosive press conference
Former Carlton captain Sam Docherty said he was “surprised” by one particular comment coach Michael Voss made at a press conference on Thursday.
Michael Voss came out swinging during Thursday’s press conference, saying the club was being “bullied” over its handling of Elijah Hollands’ mental health episode during last week’s game against Collingwood.
And Docherty didn’t hold back when asked about his thoughts on Voss’ comments, calling for accountability to be at the forefront of the ongoing investigation.

“You can have care and failure in the same situation,” he told 3AW Drive.
“My hope is whoever is at fault … takes ownership for their part on it.”
Journalist and broadcaster, Sam McClure, then stated he was both “impressed” but “dismayed” with what the Carlton head coach had to say.

“To try to turn this on the media, and say that we’ve turned this into a public event, that’s not in line with the truth,” McClure said.
