Where Sam Walsh says Blues have to improve to shake off ‘cardiac Carlton’ tag

Carlton has been involved in plenty of close games so far in 2024, with plenty of people dubbing them ‘cardiac Carlton’ as a result.

The latest came on Thursday night, where they kicked the first six goals of the game against Melbourne but only won by a point.

Gun Blue Sam Walsh told Wide World of Sports his side had to improve on their focus in-game during matches as they look to continually improve.

“On the weekend for three quarters our brand is what we wanted to play,” he told Sam McClure and Matthew Lloyd.

“The growth for us as a group…we’ve had a 20-30 point lead throughout the year (in different games) and we’re then straying from what is working.”
