Who impressed Matthew Lloyd for Essendon in their close win over Adelaide

Essendon have defeated Adelaide by three points at the Adelaide Oval in a thrilling finish, to win their third game of the season.

And there was one player who really impressed Matthew Lloyd when assessing the game.

“After Merrett, he’d be my second player picked in that side,” Lloyd said.

The game ended in controversial fashion, with Bombers ruckman Sam Draper diving on the ball in the final seconds with the Crows player pleading for a free kick, which wasn’t given as the siren sounded.
