Who Tony Shaw wants to see AFL appoint in key role following Laura Kane demotion

Tony Shaw has outlined the type of person he wants to see fulfil the AFL’s new football performance role as part of their major restructure.
Laura Kane’s previous role of executive general manager of football operations has been split into two roles, with the AFL set to appoint someone else to look after a new portfolio involving umpiring and MRO.
Shaw said colleague Jimmy Bartel would be a suitable candidate to fill the new role at the AFL, and called for great transparency out of head office.

“The transparency of the AFL is its biggest issue,” he said on Wide World of Sports.
“After a couple of issues, they’ve shut up shop.”
In other major announcements on Thursday afternoon, AFL general counsel Stephen Meade will exit the executive, while social and inclusion boss Tanya Hosch’s long-speculated departure has been made official.
