A former Liberal MP who ran around Australia campaigning for the ‘yes’ vote in the Voice referendum says he feels for Indigenous Australians who will be left feeling hopeless.

Pat Farmer, who ran 14,000 campaigning for ‘yes’, told Neil Mitchell many Aboriginal people are “probably thinking that the whole country just simply doesn’t care about them and that there’s never any way forward for them”.

But he said he “admires” Anthony Albanese for holding the referendum.
