Why Hawthorn’s emergence reminds Tony Shaw about Collingwood

Tony Shaw is seeing similarities between Hawthorn’s rapid rise and Collingwood’s style of play in recent years.

The Hawks are one of the most in-form teams in the competition and now sit on the cusp of the top eight after a comfortable win over Richmond on Saturday.

“I see a bit of Collingwood in them,” Tony Shaw said on 3AW Football.

“They’re well structured, they have really good leadership behind the ball and then they have these small (forwards).”
