Why Leigh Matthews dislikes Brodie Grundy’s ‘wrestling’ ruck style

Sydney ruckman Brodie Grundy was dominant in their win over Richmond on Saturday, finishing the game with 43 hit-outs.

However, Leigh Matthews dislikes Grundy’s ruck style and he thinks umpires are allowing players to wrestle in the ruck contest.

“I do not like the Grundy ruck style, I reckon he’s wrecking the ruck work,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.

“You should be wanting blokes to jump at the ball and not just let someone push the body into them all the time.”
