Former Collingwood player Leon Davis has highlighted the importance of educating the AFL on indigenous culture in light of a public spat over the conduct of Willie Rioli.

Port Adelaide CEO David Koch accused Western Bulldogs of “cultural disrespect” before Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge fired back, defending his players. Davis, who now holds the role of Collingwood Cultural Development Manager, believes education can be a path to further understanding.

“It’s something that we see in the AFL as a talking point,” Davis said on 3AW Football.
