Why Miles Bergman turned his back on Victorian clubs

Miles Bergman says he’s made a “big decision” not to leave Port Adelaide and return to his home state, but couldn’t be more excited about the club’s future.

The dashing defender, who grew up in Melbourne, turned his back on reported big-money offers from the likes of St Kilda and Essendon to re-sign on a two-year deal.

“It’s a big decision being away from family,” he told Jimmy Bartel on Wide World of Sports.

“Two years takes me to free agency and we can assess from there, but our group has a lot of upside so I’m very excited.”
