Why Ross Lyon is remaining coy on futures of veterans

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says he won’t be publicly drawn on the playing futures of several veterans at the club.

He said the Dockers would work with the likes of David Mundy and Aaron Sandilands on their futures behind closed doors.

Lyon said he had learned from a previous experience at St Kilda where Steven Baker, Robert Eddy and Andrew McQualter had their futures announced publicly before they knew themselves.

“I certainly wouldn’t want to find myself in that situation again,” Lyon told Sportsday.
