The managing director of Seven Melbourne says it would be “disrespectful” to the broadcast agreement if his network pinched Saturday’s blockbuster between Richmond and Collingwood from Fox Footy.

Several 3AW Mornings listeners have voiced their displeasure about Saturday’s match between the Tigers and Magpies not being on free-to-air television.

Lewis Martin, managing director of Seven Melbourne, told Neil Mitchell decisions were made in October last year.

“We need to recognise and respect commercial agreements and our broadcast partners,” he said on 3AW.

“I’d be being a little mischievous if I said it was a simple thing to do (change the broadcast schedule) – it’s not a simple thing.

“It would be disrespectful to that process which we all agree to.”
