Why Thursday night’s match in Darwin says more about Gold Coast than Geelong

The Gold Coast Suns thumped Geelong by 64 points up in Darwin on Thursday, with the Cats conceding the most points under Chris Scott with 164.

But Geelong great Jimmy Bartel thinks it says more about Gold Coast than Geelong.

Bartel said “I don’t think I’ve seen a Geelong side nearly minus 100 in uncontested possession” and the Gold Coast midfield numbers were “enormous”.
