Why Tom Elliott is cutting Sally Capp some slack

Tom Elliott says Sally Capp’s reported upcoming trip to Singapore “isn’t a good look” for the Lord Mayor but is good-intentioned.

The trip, which is yet to be approved by the City of Melbourne, has been met with mixed reaction.

The City of Melbourne has been accused of “insulting” ratepayers.

The Lord Mayor is said to be going on a fact-finding mission to see why graffiti is not an issue in Singapore.

Tom Elliott said it could end up being worthwhile.

“Graffiti around the City of Melbourne is awful,” the 3AW Drive host said on Wednesday.

“It is terrible, it is an eyesore.

“So I’ll cut Sally Capp some slack.

“If she comes back from Singapore and has a realistic and concrete plan to tackle graffiti, then I think the trip will be worthwhile.

“We will see.”
