‘Would be huge’: Carlton on cusp of welcome surprise following Jack Silvagni’s exit
Newsbreaker Mitch Cleary says Carlton could be in for a welcome surprise when it comes to the compensation it’ll receive for wantaway free agent Jack Silvagni.
Silvagni will accept a five-year deal to move to St Kilda, rebutting rival interest from Collingwood and Western Bulldogs.
The Channel 7 footy reporter told Jimmy Bartel there could be a silver lining to the forward departing Carlton.

“The (deal for Silvagni at St Kilda) could potentially put Carlton in the conversation for a first-round or end-of-first-round compensation pick,
“This would be huge for a club that was probably preparing for a second-round pick a month or so ago.”
