Young Western Bulldog withdrawn after injuring head in car crash with teammate
Two young Western Bulldogs have been involved in a car crash, forcing one of them from the team to face Port Adelaide on Sunday.
Defender Roarke Smith has a cut on his head after he and Kieran Collins were involved in the accident.
As a result, Smith has been withdrawn from the Bulldogs team to take on the Power in Ballarat.
Collins was not named in the extended line-up.
“They are both fine, but Roarke won’t play,” coach Luke Beveridge told a press conference today.
“Just turning, car turning the other way collected them.
“The early news is they are OK. Roarke has a cut on his head.
“Roarke has been playing some promising footy and we think he has a bright future so it’s a shame this has happened.
“I don’t think he will be staying in hospital for long.”
