Zak Jones escapes suspension for hit on Merrett

Swan Zak Jones has been slapped with a $1500 fine for a hit on Zach Merrett.

Jones was reported before the first bounce of Friday night’s match after appearing to hit the Bomber in the head, but Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed the incident as “misconduct”.

Jones has also been hit with a two-match ban for rough conduct in a separate incident.

He collected Kyle Langford with a high bump late in the game.

Bomber Devon Smith can accept a $1000 fine for attempting to trip Luke Parker.
