Caroline Wilson has labelled Alastair Clarkson a “protected species” after Jeremy Finlayson’s suspension for a homophobic slur made during Port Adelaide’s game against Essendon.

Wilson accused the AFL of “so much hypocrisy” in the area of homophobia, after Clarkson got a $20,000 fine while Finlayson got a three week suspension.

“The AFL’s excuses were really limp in that area,” she said.
