Brad Scott has been sacked as the coach of Essendon this morning.

The news was broken by Mitch Cleary, with Scott being released from his position with a year left on his contract.

3AW sports reporter, Jon Anderson, told Ross and Russ that former Essendon player Dean Solomon is in the mix to get the top job.

The action comes off the back of Essendon’s shocking one win season so far, leaving them sitting in 18th position on the ladder.

Speaking with 3AW Breakfast, award-winning AFL journalist and broadcaster, Sam McClure, said that the “disastrous” Dreamtime match result pushed this decision over the line.
