FOOTY PROTEST: Muslim duo to make ‘political statement’ at MCG

Adam Saad and Bachar Houli will stage a political protest at the MCG on Friday night, according to Sportsday newsbreaker Tom Morris.

It’s in response to Senator Fraser Anning’s inflammatory maiden speech in parliament.

The protest will take place on the ground before the first bounce.

“They’ll deliver a powerful political statement against racism on Friday night at the MCG,” Morris said on Sportsday.

“It’s with the unequivocal support of both Richmond and Essendon.”

At this stage, it’s unclear exactly what the protest will involve.

Senator Anning sparked widespread condemnation when he referenced the “final solution” during a speech about putting a stop to Muslim immigration.

Both Saad and Houli are Muslim.
