People ‘started screaming’ as car drove through Northland

Channel 9 reporter Neary Ty has described the confronting scene at Northland on Thursday afternoon as a car ploughed through the shopping centre at high speed.

The incident occurred shortly after 4pm, with multiple witnesses ringing 3AW Drive to describe the unfolding situation.

“All I could hear were people screaming,” Neary Ty told Jacqui Felgate.

“I looked up and you could see a white SUV speeding through the centre, it was so scary.”
