Rumour File: Apple store in Federation Square?

3AW Breakfast believes part of Federation Square is set to make way for an Apple store.

In what would be a major change to one of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks, it’s believed the tech giant is set to launch a flagship store in the CBD’s meeting place.

We’ve been told Apple will insert its own building deep within the Federation Square precinct, requiring part of the existing building to be knocked down.

Government and council have not been able to confirm or deny the rumour, first heard on the Rumour File with Ross and John.

An Apple store would likely attract thousands of shoppers a day to Federation Square.
