The 2013 Andrews family car crash which left a teenager seriously injured, and the stairs the Premier fell down last year, have been in the headlines again in recent weeks.

John ‘Sly’ Silvester has pointed out problems with rumours about both events.

On the car accident, Sly cast doubt over the suggestion from former Victorian crown prosecutor James Bowen that it would be “normal police investigative procedure” to impound the family car and transport it on a truck to Melbourne for forensic investigation.

Regarding the stairs, Sly says if there was any truth to the rumours it “would have been through the police network by the time they brought doughnuts for morning tea”.
