A story which broke on the Rumour File this week has come to a happy ending.

The Monash High Powered Rocketry team arrived in New Mexico to compete in the Spaceport America Cup without the rocket they’d spent two years creating.

The rocket was left in Sydney by Jetstar. After a mammoth last minute event, the rocket was found and sent to the USA, only to be detained by US Customs.

But it’s finally made it!

And thanks to another unexpected turn of events, the Monash team didn’t miss out on the first day of launching.
