On 1 May 2025, a broadcast on 3AW Breakfast about the impacts of deregulation of the taxi industry incorrectly stated that taxi licence plates were previously sold by the Victorian government. The plates, although originally issued by the State Government for a fee, were in fact sold on the open market.
